NIMBECIDINE

NIMBECIDINE is a neem-oil-based botanical insecticide containing Azadirachtin and other limonoids including Meliantriol, Salanin, Nimbin, and a host of other terpenoids in the ratio as it occurs naturally in neem. 

Active Ingredient: Azadirachtin
Azadirachtin is Neem trees main agent for battling insects.

Azadirachtin is structurally similar to insect hormones called “ecdysones” which control the process of metamorphosis, in this case azadirachtin is an “ecdysone blocker” It blocks the insects production and release of the vital hormones for growth & reproduction. In addition to inhibiting growth, it also repels insects even at very small amounts. 

Limonoids – Phytochemicals of the triterpenoid class, they demonstrate the ability to block insect growth. 
Melantriol – Is a feeding inhibitor, even at very low concentrations it causes cessation of feeding in insects. 
Salanin – Feeding inhibitor but does not influence insects molts. 
Nimbin & Nimbidin – Have anti-viral activity i.e controls various viral diseases in crops & even in livestock. 

Modes of Action

1. Antifeedant: decreases the motility of the gut & blocks ability to swallow. 
2. Repellant: Repels larvaes and adults at low dosage. 
3. Ovi-position Deterrent: Deter female from laying eggs & inhibits the development of the eggs. 
4. Insect Growth Regulator: Disrupts mating & blocks the molting of larvae or nymphs. 
5. Sterilant: Adult insects become sterile.

Target Pest: Whitefly, Aphids, Mealybugs, Thrips, Caterpillars, Leaf miners & Leafhoppers.
Target Crop: All crops.
Application Rates: 5ml/20L of water or 2.5 to 3L/Ha. 
PHI: N/A

Application Guide:  Add water to Nimbecidine. Do not add Nimbecidine to water. Stir well to get a good emulsion.
