Sukuma Osho Springs: Reviving the Athi Kapiti Ecosystem, One Waterhole at a Time

Sukuma Osho Springs waterhole restoration in Maanzoni Wildlife Estate

A Lifeline for Wildlife and a Hope for Restoration

We are proud to announce the groundbreaking of Sukuma Osho Springs, the first of 100 waterholes set to be developed in Maanzoni Wildlife Estate. This milestone is part of a bold initiative to rejuvenate the Athi Kapiti ecosystem, a vital habitat for wildlife and native vegetation in Kenya.

As Osho Chemicals, we are deeply committed to sustainable solutions — and environmental restoration is a big part of that commitment. Through our partnership with Sukuma Twende Trust, we are helping to build more than just waterholes. We are creating pathways for nature to heal.

Why Sukuma Osho Springs Matters

The Athi Kapiti ecosystem has long faced degradation due to climate change, human encroachment and water scarcity. Sukuma Osho Springs is more than just a conservation effort — it is a statement of hope.

Each waterhole provides:

  • Reliable access to water for wildlife during dry seasons
  • Support for the regrowth of native plant species
  • Stabilisation of the ecosystem through improved biodiversity

The restoration journey starts here — and Sukuma Osho Springs is just the beginning.

Osho’s Role in Ecosystem Restoration

Our support for Sukuma Osho Springs is rooted in our belief that a healthy environment is key to long-term agricultural and community success. By supporting this initiative, we aim to give back to the land that sustains us all.

Through our resources, technical support and continued collaboration with Sukuma Twende Trust, we’re working to ensure every waterhole contributes to a greener, more resilient future.

Looking Ahead

This is the first step of an ambitious 100-waterhole project. With each one, we move closer to restoring balance to the Athi Kapiti plains. It’s a journey of regeneration, and we’re honoured to walk it alongside like-minded partners.

We invite everyone to follow the progress, support the mission and be part of this remarkable effort to restore Kenya’s landscapes — one spring at a time.
